Can the Popular Goji Juice have Side Effects?
When our doctor prescribes medications that are intended to relieve our discomfort or alleviate pain, there are explicit warnings listing any possible side effects that may occur as a result from taking that medication.
Some of the more common side effects include diarrhea, cramps, nausea, etc. It seems that there isn’t a drug that doesn’t have side effects – whether it is a prescription from your doctor or a television commercial for a new diet supplement.
However, there is one health product that does not have any unfavorable side effects. Goji juice side effects are not really heard of. Only the positive benefits of the berry have been researched. Many promising results are demonstrated especially in its shown ability to counter the side effects of many ailments or treatments. One such prescribed treatment is chemotherapy. Instead of the goji juice having side effects, it actually counters many of the side effects caused by chemotherapy.
Chemotherapy Produces a Low White Blood Cell Count
The side effect of chemotherapy retards the ability of the bone marrow to increase the white blood cell count. The weakened condition and low white blood cell count creates a dangerous medical situation for the patient undergoing chemotherapy. The patient, with this count being low, becomes very vulnerable to infections that invade the body.
When drinking goji juice, these side effects have been shown to decrease because of an increase in the white blood cell count. This process, in turn, strengths the body and immune system thus allowing the warding off of infections.
Chemotherapy Produces Low Energy Levels
Another side effect of chemotherapy leaves the patient feeling tired and run down. Instead of having side effects, goji juice results in higher energy levels. A diet that includes a daily helping of goji juice could boost your energy levels because of the ingredient, lyceum, which has been shown to be effective in combating fatigue.
Chemotherapy Treatment Aided by Goji Juice
The purpose of chemotherapy is to treat cancer. Some essential elements found in the goji fruit are lyceum barbarum which are key ingredients shown to be effective antioxidants. These antioxidants can prevent the growth of leukemia and the cancerous cells of the liver. The only possible side effect of goji juice which has been found so far is that consuming too much of it by pregnant women can cause birth complications. Apart from that, instead of any goji juice negative side effects, it only results in further protection of the body from disease and infection.
